Nars Product Review.. worth the cash?

I recently went on a bit of a splurge and invested in some high end products. I have heard great things about Nars products from various youtubers and decided it was about time I give it a try.

Foundation-Nars Radiant Cream Compact Foundation.

NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation
This was given to me as a  present. They weren't lying when they called this a creamy foundation. This foundation is unfortunately not for me, it is supposed to provide medium to full coverage, however  it definitely does not! Moreover, the light coverage faded quickly. The packaging is not very practical as it stains easily if you have foundation on your hands. On a positive note, it is quite moisturising, however it does not warrant the outrageous price tag.

Blusher- Nars Deep Throat

NARS Deep Throat Highlighting Blush
This blusher is fantastic. It is well worth the hype. It is great alternative to the famous 'orgasm' which I find too pink and shimmery! So, if you are looking for a peachy blusher, this is definitely worth considering.

Lip pencil-Nars Roman Holiday

Roman Holiday Velvet Matte Lip Pencil
I have to admit that the fact Kim Kardashian wears this colour influenced my choice! It is a gorgeous pink which, I think would work on any skin tone. It's quite moisturising and if you are like me and have cracks on your lips, it doesn't cling to them. I wear it with Benefit's poutrageous to add a bit of gloss to the matte finish.

Concealer- Nars creamy concealer.

This is also a fantastic product, especially if you are looking to cover up black bags under your eyes! It has a creamy consistency and isn't too heavy. I wear it in light 2.

I am dying to try out their Laguna bronzer and the Turkish Delight lip gloss.

Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer, yay or nay?!

Catrice ultimate nail lacquer.

Last night, Sally Hansen nail polish seriously disappointed  me! I applied the nail polish and it was it look cheap and runny so I had to remove it. In light of the Sally Hansen catastrophe, I went ahead and purchased Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in the colour 13 shopping day at Bluemingdales. It was a steal, costing only 2 euro.
I applied essence studio nails base coat and then applied two layers of the Catrice polish. It has a lovely silky feel and drys relatively  fast. At this price, I would encourage you all to ditch the expensive polishes and give this a try! :-)  Here's what it turned out like! It's just a coincidence that it matches my jeans.
What's your favorite nail polish?

Formal dress for your bodyshape!

How to find a formal dress to suit your body shape

Formal events can be majorly stressful because everybody wants to look their best.  People splash the cash because we all there will be tons of photos taken on the night. Not all dresses suit every body type, it is crucial that you know your body type. All body shapes can look great it just depends on how you dress them
Here are is a list of all main different body shapes
Pear: Torso and upper body smaller than your hips with waist definition
Rectangle: Torso and upper body are the same width as your hips - little waist definition
Hourglass: For women with this body type, the bust and hip are approximately the same size, and the waist is narrow
Apple: Torso and upper body wider than your hips - with little or no waist definition. You might have weight surrounding your waist.

The Hourglass figure

I would consider myself to have an hourglass figure. If you have an hourglass figure, you want to try to draw attention to your waist. If, like me , you are short (I am 5'2) you want to definitely avoid dresses with a lot of material, as they will overwhelm your figure.

I went to a ball last week week, here's what I wore. I choose this dress because it has a defined waste line and because of the bright colour. If you are quite pale, you cannot under any circumstances get away with wearing white. Wearing  brighter colours will ensure you don't look washed out.

Pear shaped body

If you have this type of body, you should draw attention to your flat stomach and your small waist and shoulders. You want to avoid drawing attention to your hips.

How can this be achieved? Strapless dresses are ideal for apple shaped bodies as they will show off one of your best assets- shoulders.

Apple shaped body

If you have this type of figure, you want to avoid dresses that draw attention to your stomach.

A dress with a waist band can be a good option.

Ruffles can act as a good camouflage away from the stomach.

Rectangle

Halter neck dresses look great on this body shape as they show off your elongated back.

High necklines also work well if you have a small bust.

Skincare routine for dry skin

1. Payot Makeup Remover- Cleanser.

Payot Démaquillant Essentiel (Hydrating Cleansing Lotion) (200ml)
This stuff smells divine! I have never used a makeup cleanser that smells so good. You basically apply it to your skin and leave it on for around 30 seconds and melts all your makeup right off your face, no need for water. This is perfect if you are travelling.
2. Payot Toner
For some reason or another, people are convinced that toner is useless and that a cleanser does all the work. Toners remove any residue left on your face by the cleanser and restore your skins natural PH balance which augments after cleansing. Although a cleanser does do the main work, if you can afford it you should think of  investing in a toner.

3. Lancome-Bi-Facil eye makeup remover

I recived this a sample, it removes every trace of mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow from your eyes. The skin arond your eyes is very sensitive and thin so be sure to be gentle.

4. Moisturiser-My Payot Jour , daily radiance care.

This is new favorite moisturiser. It has a very fresh fruity vibrant smell and gives your skin a lovely glow. It is very expensive,so  if you happen to be in France or going to France you should definitely put this on your wish list as it is much cheaper there.

5.  Nuxe-Global anti-aging eye cream.

I finish my routine by applying a small amount of eye cream with the hope that I will see the difference in a few years :-)

Valentine's day

Valentine's Day

Considering the day that was in it, I decided to wear pink!

My top was a gift from American Eagle. The boots are from Paris, I bought them in an André outlet. My jeans are high-waisted salsa jeans which super comfortable! I'm wearing Jessica Comedy Club on my nails.

We ate in Jamie Oliver's restaurant in Dublin. We started the night with a glass of wine. Unfortunately, I found the food very heavy and overpriced, so I won't be recommending it . I was surprised by the dessert which was a yummy gooey chocolate brownie with caramel ice-cream.

My boyfriend bought me the Nars Turkish Delight lipgloss so needless to say, it is exactly what I wanted. It's a milkish white colour  which  goes really well with the Nars Roman Holiday lip pencil.  Compared to other lipglosses I have used, this stayed on for quite a while.
